Senior Construction Estimator – Heavy Civil / Water Infrastructure


Location: Englewood, CO

A well-established general contractor is seeking an experienced Lead or Chief Estimator to join its Colorado-based team. This firm specializes in water, wastewater, and heavy civil infrastructure projects, delivering treatment plants, pump stations, reservoirs, and utility systems that serve communities across the region.


Role Overview:

The Estimator will be responsible for leading the bid process from start to finish, preparing accurate proposals, and ensuring competitiveness in the public and private sectors. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with proven experience in complex civil and water-related projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor and manage existing estimating team (3 members)
  • Identify and evaluate bid opportunities within the firm’s core markets.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and related documents to develop detailed proposals.
  • Perform quantity take-offs across civil, mechanical, and utility scopes, with an emphasis on water/wastewater infrastructure.
  • Manage subcontractor and supplier outreach, collecting and analyzing quotes.
  • Assess labor, material, and equipment costs to build accurate estimates.
  • Coordinate with project management staff to align pricing with schedules.
  • Finalize bid submissions while meeting strict deadlines.


Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in construction estimating is required; heavy civil or water-focused experience is strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of heavy civil experience with at least 6 years of Strong water treatment/wastewater treatment build experience
  • Ability to interpret complex plans and specifications.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and spreadsheets.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under time-sensitive conditions.


Compensation & Schedule:

  • Full-time, office-based position (Monday–Friday).
  • Competitive salary range: $127,478 to $165k+ (commensurate with experience and project history)
