  • Develop detailed line-item estimates, unit pricing, and assembled rates using estimating software and cost databases.
  • Collaborate with project managers, design teams, and clients to clarify scope, present estimates, and support negotiating and contract award processes.
  • Maintain and update historical cost data, pricing databases, and standard assemblies to improve estimating consistency and accuracy.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior estimators and support staff; review their work for accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in preparing proposals, bid packages, and prequalification documentation; respond to RFPs and RFIs as needed.
  • Monitor market trends, material costs, and labor availability to inform estimates and project planning.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive estimating experience in the construction industry with a strong focus on multi-family projects and preconstruction services.

  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, means and methods, subcontractor scopes, and labor productivity.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills for interacting with clients, design teams, and subcontractors.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead preconstruction efforts, perform value engineering, and support budget development.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff and working collaboratively in cross-functional project teams.
