Senior Estimator – Commercial Drywall Subcontractor (Fort Lauderdale, FL)
I am currently partnered with a well-established commercial drywall subcontractor in the Fort Lauderdale area that is looking to bring on a Senior Estimator to support and lead their preconstruction efforts. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator to join a stable company with a strong backlog of work and a reputation for delivering high-quality projects.
Position Overview:
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for leading the estimating process for commercial drywall projects, including preparing detailed and competitive bids, managing takeoffs, and coordinating pricing. This individual will play a key role in driving project wins and supporting overall preconstruction strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead quantity takeoffs for drywall, metal framing, and related scopes
- Prepare comprehensive and accurate estimates and proposals for commercial drywall packages
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents to ensure complete scope coverage
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and material pricing to ensure competitive bids
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving strategies
- Coordinate with project management and field teams to align on scope, budgets, and execution
- Participate in bid reviews, scope leveling, and client discussions as needed
Key Requirements:
- 7+ years of estimating experience specifically with a commercial drywall subcontractor
- Strong background in drywall systems, metal framing, and interior finishes
- Proven ability to manage full-cycle estimating processes and deliver competitive bids
- Strong understanding of labor, material pricing, and market conditions within drywall scopes
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications at a high level
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, On Screen Takeoff, or similar estimating software
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL
Salary Range: $100,000 to $140,000 base depending on experience
