Construction Estimator

Location: New Rochelle, NY

Compensation: $120,000 – $160,000 + Performance Bonus & Benefits

We aren't a "bid-hit" shop. We are a family-owned, tech-forward General Contractor and Construction Manager that has spent over 50 years building the infrastructure that defines the Hudson Valley and New York City. From technically complex LEED-certified wellness centers and neurobiology labs to critical transit infrastructure, we tackle the projects others shy away from.

We are looking for an Estimator who views preconstruction as a puzzle. You aren’t just plugging numbers into a spreadsheet; you are a consultant helping our clients find value, manage risk, and navigate the complexities of rock excavation, deep foundations, and high-end institutional finishes.

• Full-Cycle Preconstruction: Lead estimates from initial site investigation through final GMP. You’ll handle takeoffs, crew compositions, and production rates for diverse sectors including Healthcare, Higher Ed, and Public Infrastructure.
• Value Engineering: We pride ourselves on finding "The Third Way." You will analyze drawings to identify cost-saving alternatives that preserve the architect's vision while respecting the client's budget.
• Subcontractor Partnership: You’ll manage our trade relationships, ensuring bid coverage is deep and leveling is precise. We treat our subs as partners, not commodities.
• Risk Management: Identify potential "landmines" early—whether it's subsurface conditions in Westchester or complex logistical constraints on an active hospital campus.

• Experience: 5+ years in commercial/institutional estimating within the NY/CT market. If you have experience with heavy civil, structural concrete, or LEED-qualified builds, that’s a major plus.
• The "Builder" Mindset: You can look at a set of drawings and "build it in your head" before the first shovel hits the ground.
• Technical Proficiency: Expert level with Timberline/Sage, On-Center, or similar OST/Estimating software.
• Communication: You speak to clients and architects as a peer. You can explain the "why" behind a number, not just the "what."

• Stability & Safety: We haven’t had a lost-time incident in over a decade. Safety isn't a poster on the wall here; it’s a moral obligation.
• Project Variety: One month you might be estimating a $25M specialized laboratory; the next, a complex structural repair for a regional transit hub.
• Culture: We are a "flat" organization. You’ll have a seat at the table with senior leadership and your voice actually carries weight in how we chase and execute work.
