A growing Columbus-based design-build firm is seeking a Senior Estimator to play a key role in leading preconstruction efforts across a diverse portfolio of commercial and industrial work.


This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced estimator who wants direct visibility with leadership and the ability to influence how projects are pursued, priced, and ultimately won. Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Estimator with strong preconstruction experience and the ability to independently lead estimates on complex construction projects.


The ideal candidate is someone comfortable owning full estimates, managing subcontractor coverage, evaluating risk, and working directly with leadership through key pursuit stages.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle estimating efforts across negotiated and competitive pursuits
  • Review drawings, specifications, and conceptual documents to establish complete project pricing
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs, budgets, conceptual estimates, and detailed cost analysis
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing
  • Level bids and identify scope gaps, exclusions, and risk areas
  • Participate in value engineering and pricing strategy discussions
  • Work closely with operations leadership during preconstruction and turnover
  • Support budgeting efforts early in project development
  • Present estimate findings and recommendations internally


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 8+ years of estimating or preconstruction experience with a General Contractor, CM, or similar construction environment
  • Experience leading estimates on commercial or industrial projects
  • Strong understanding of conceptual estimating, hard bids, and negotiated work
  • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly with leadership and project teams
  • Proficiency with estimating software and construction documents


Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary: $135,000 – $175,000 depending on experience
