Role Description

This is a full-time (32+ hours) role for a Senior Environmental Scientist located in Saratoga Springs, NY, or Providence, RI. The Senior Environmental Scientist will be responsible for conducting and overseeing environmental field investigations, research, analyzing data, preparing reports, and developing strategies for mitigating environmental impacts. Daily tasks include fieldwork, data collection, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to provide scientific support for a variety of projects. The role also involves communicating findings to stakeholders and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. The hired person will be self-motivated and able to work independently.


Qualifications

• 5-10 years of consulting experience in conducting and overseeing environmental research and data analysis

• Master's degree (preferred) in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biology, or a related field

• Strong skills in preparing scientific reports and developing conclusions and recommendations for clients and project stakeholders

• Proficiency in fieldwork and data collection techniques

• Understanding of and compliance with environmental regulations from federal agencies (e.g., HUD, FEMA, and NEPA review), and state and local agencies

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Experience with human health and ecological risk assessments

• Existing client relationships are a plus

• Experience leading successful proposals, including competitive pursuits

• The position may involve local and out-of-state travel (of short duration) as needed
