Role Description The Scientist role is a full-time, on-site position based in Cresson, TX. In this role, the scientist supports the development, testing, and optimization of products for energy applications, including laboratory formulation, preparation of samples, and execution of standardized and custom test protocols. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and conducting experiments, maintaining accurate laboratory records, analyzing data, and summarizing findings in technical reports and presentations. The scientist collaborates with senior scientists, engineers, and commercial teams to translate customer needs into lab-scale solutions and to support product scale-up and field evaluations. Additional tasks include maintaining laboratory equipment, following EHS and quality procedures, and participating in continuous improvement activities and cross-functional project meetings.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in experimental design, laboratory techniques, and data analysis relevant to chemistry, chemical engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience with formulation, testing, and characterization of chemical products, preferably in energy, oilfield, or industrial applications.
  • Ability to document work clearly, prepare technical reports, and communicate findings to scientific and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret results, troubleshoot experiments, and propose next steps.
  • Effective collaboration and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work safely in a lab environment.
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or pHD degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related scientific discipline; industry or internship experience is a plus.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Cresson, TX and occasionally support pilot trials, or customer demonstrations as needed.
