Senior Environment Health Safety Engineer

Our client is currently seeking a Senior EHS Engineer for their manufacturing facility near Sterling IL. The EHS Engineer will have 1 direct report coordinator and report into the EHS & Quality Manager. This person will establish the company’s culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement by leading with purpose & ensuring their operations meet & exceed regulatory standards. The Sr. EHS Engineer will have the ability to construct & then implement the Safety & Environmental Compliance Programs as this company is currently working towards an ISO 45001 Certification. This job will have the following responsibilities:

• Championing the EHS Program Deployment within our World Class Manufacturing framework to drive safety and environmental excellence.
• Developing & deploying site-wide EHS strategies, policies, and standards aligned with ISO 45001, OSHA, and EPA Standards
• Mentoring and coaching teams to build EHS capabilities and foster a "zero-incident" mindset.
• Conducting risk assessments (JHAs, HAZOPs) and leading mitigation efforts.
• Managing audits and inspections, ensuring readiness and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Analyzing EHS data to identify trends and drive proactive improvements.

• Qualifications & Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety & Health or Safety Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years in EHS leadership within a manufacturing environment.
• Deep knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISO 45001, and CTPAT compliance.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
