Senior Manufacturing Director

Location: Greater Lansing, MI (On-Site) (Candidates must relocate or be within commutable distance to Lansing)

Compensation: $185,000 - $250,000 Base Salary (Based on experience)

Reports To: CEO / COO


About the Company:

Our client is a leading consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturer experiencing significant growth and expansion. They are seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Director to lead manufacturing operations, drive operational excellence, and build scalable systems that support continued growth. This is a high-impact leadership role for a hands-on operator who thrives in fast-paced environments and has a proven track record of improving performance, developing teams, and optimizing manufacturing operations.


Position Overview:

The Senior Manufacturing Director will oversee all manufacturing operations, including production, packaging, fulfillment, planning, inventory management, and process improvement initiatives.

This leader will work closely with executive leadership to improve operational performance, increase efficiency, strengthen cross-functional alignment, and support the company's long-term growth strategy.


Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing & Operations Leadership

  • Lead all manufacturing operations across production, packaging, fulfillment, and related functions.
  • Improve throughput, efficiency, quality, and operational performance.
  • Develop and implement KPIs to drive accountability and visibility.
  • Optimize production planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and process standardization.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities and workflow improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.

Strategic Operations

  • Partner with executive leadership to align manufacturing capabilities with business objectives.
  • Improve forecasting accuracy, inventory controls, and supply chain performance.
  • Support ERP/MRP system optimization and utilization.
  • Develop scalable processes and systems to support future growth.
  • Strengthen vendor and supplier relationships.
  • Drive operational efficiencies that improve profitability and cash flow.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead cross-functional alignment between operations, finance, sales, and executive leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with both frontline employees and senior stakeholders.


Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience leading multiple departments and/or multi-site manufacturing operations.
  • Proven success scaling manufacturing operations in high-growth environments.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, inventory management, supply chain, and operational finance.
  • Experience implementing ERP/MRP systems and process improvements.
  • Track record of driving measurable operational performance improvements.
  • Experience working within highly regulated manufacturing environments.
