About the Role:

The Senior Director, Commercial Finance sits right at the intersection of sales, marketing, and profitability, so the role is less about pure accounting and more about influencing commercial decisions. The Senior Director, Commercial Finance is a strategic business partner to the Sales and Marketing teams. This role is responsible for driving profitable growth by delivering actionable insights and enhancing financial visibility across the commercial organization. The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of the beer industry, distributor networks, and consumer dynamics. Partner closely with HUSA’s Chief Sales Officer and Chief Marketing Officer, as a member of the Sales and Marketing Leadership Teams, to develop and execute our commercial strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Commercial Finance team through individual/team development plans, effective performance management, enhanced business analytics, on the job coaching and constantly raising standards.
  • Provide inspirational leadership and direction to your team, ensuring your team will be motivated and instilling a culture of first-class Business Partnering.
  • Ensure the development of the overall Finance Function by working closely with other Finance departments, as well as cross functional partners.
  • Foster a culture of fact-based decision making and cost consciousness.
  • Maximize team performance by aiding, challenging, and influencing the Leadership Teams.
  • Provide advice, guidance, and influence/strengthen decision making in Commercial functions.
  • Oversee the development of value-added analytics and business insights to promote our team’s understanding and development of our business.
  • Support decision making process in the Commercial Functions by:
    • Full Profit and Loss (P&L) view and accountability of the US Region.
    • Execute PTW changes
    • Promote the deployment of information throughout the organization
    • Develop Business Cases, as necessary
    • Provide Scenario Modelling
    • Provide competitive analysis and external insights around competitors in both the beer category as well as overall beverage industry as needed.
    • Manage external data providers and analytic functions including AC Nielsen, Beverage Marketing Corp and The Beer Institute
    • Lead analyses to provide the financial impact of Sales (ROI budget & Sponsorship, ROS, among others)
    • Lead Ad hoc Analysis to gain insights
    • Prepare Sales / SKUs / Channel profitability analyses
  • Support the business planning cycle for the 3-year strategy, Annual Plan and Latest Estimates, providing relevant challenge to teams.
  • Monitor and develop insight on the quantitative and qualitative performance of the commercial functions and communicate insights through the preparation and delivery of streamlined reporting including commentary and goals.
  • Monitor actual cost development vs. AP/LE and provide early warnings on deviations.
  • Present results to the Commercial Leadership Teams.
  • Define and challenge the requirements for standard management reporting and work with Digital and Technology to communicate identified requirements.
  • Establish and implement processes within the teams to ensure the integrity of accounting records and financial information.
  • Ensure risks for the Commercial functions are managed throughout the year; propose mitigating actions and flag risks to the leadership teams.
  • Ensure the proper execution of business controls as identified in the Key Control Framework.
  • Manage the cost of direct team.

Basic Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 10+ years of related commercial finance experience within consumer goods or related industry
  • Demonstration of leveraging analytics and data to drive decision making
  • Undergraduate in Business, Sales, Marketing or Finance required
  • At least 2 years of people management experience
  • Proven experience of challenging and influencing business partners to drive decision making
  • Experience with financial modeling with a high standard of personal and team execution
  • Ability to draw meaningful insights using data
  • Ability to translate strategic direction into meaningful actions
  • Experience with financial information systems and related tools for staging and deploying information

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary Range: $210,000 - $230,000 + Annual Bonus
