Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and creative Senior Designer (Cut & Sew) to join our Karl Lagerfeld Sportswear team. This role is responsible for creating and designing a competitive apparel product line that balances commercially viable product with brand-right, fashion-forward design. The ideal candidate will drive the design process from concept through final production, supporting the brand’s strategic and financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and develop Cut & Sew knit product from concept through final approved garments
• Conduct trend research and identify inspirational styles to inform seasonal line development
• Create sketches, technical drawings, and complete tech packs for production
• Research fabrics, trims, and materials aligned with brand direction
• Conduct fittings and oversee garment development from start to finish
• Shop seasonal inspiration and contribute to color palette and materials development
• Partner with sales and cross-functional teams to monitor business trends and performance
• Communicate daily with overseas teams on product development status, approvals, and timelines
• Collaborate with sourcing and production to ensure design execution aligns with costing targets

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 9–10 years of experience in apparel design, required
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Strong technical design skills, including hand sketching and digital illustration
• Deep knowledge of Cut & Sew knit construction and garment development
• Experience working with overseas factories and vendors
• Strong understanding of market trends and ability to translate into commercial product
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with cross-functional teams
• Ability to manage deadlines and adhere to seasonal design calendars

The pay range for this position is: $100,000 - $130,000 per year.
