Mackenzie Stuart is partnered with a specialty chemical manufacturer seeking a Coating Chemist to support their mold release product line.
The role will focus on developing and improving coating formulations, supporting product scale-up, and helping drive manufacturing efficiency, cost savings, and regulatory compliance. You will work closely with Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Sales, and Manufacturing to troubleshoot issues, support product launches, and advance the product line through cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Develop new coating formulations from concept through launch
- Improve existing products by evaluating performance, cost, and compliance
- Support testing, stability analysis, and product scale-up
- Partner with cross-functional teams on product development and change control
- Investigate production issues and support root cause analysis
- Maintain laboratory methods, calibration processes, and technical records
- Work with commercial teams and customers to define product needs and specifications
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field
- 5+ years in an industrial chemical manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of formulation experience with silicone, epoxy, and/or hydrocarbon chemistries
- Experience with coatings and oil-in-water emulsion systems
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 quality systems preferred
- Experience with elastomer chemistry, GHS, or related regulatory requirements is a plus
