Position Overview

The Senior Buyer is a key member of leadership and merchandising organization. This

position plays a vital role in curating and managing the merchandise assortments that define

our brand experience in our showroom.

The ideal candidate combines an analytical mindset with creative intuition — someone equally

comfortable reviewing sell-through data as they are spotting the next great trend at Market.

You will collaborate closely with sales and marketing team to ensure every collection we offer

reflects both our customers’ lifestyles and our commitment to quality, value, and design

excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Merchandise Strategy & Vendor Relations

o Manage the assortment including Accessories and vendors maintaining strong,

collaborative relationships.

o Negotiate pricing, terms, and promotional opportunities to ensure optimal

margins and vendor partnerships.

o Partner with suppliers to develop exclusive or customized product offerings.

• Assortment Planning & Inventory Management

o Build and maintain detailed assortment plans aligned with seasonal and lifestyle

trends.

o Forecast demand, manage purchase projections, and align buy plans with sales

goals and inventory strategies.

o Monitor gross margin, sell-through and inventory performance to inform

replenishment and markdown decisions.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration

o Partner with sales and marketing to align product stories and showroom

presentations with consumer demand and brand positioning.

o Work with accounting to track purchase orders, invoices, and vendor terms.

o Coordinate with store management and visual teams to ensure floor sets,

pricing, and product information are current and compelling.

• Trend, Market, and Competitive Analysis

o Conduct ongoing product and competitor research to identify new opportunities

and gaps.

o Attend key industry markets (Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter) to evaluate

emerging trends, vendors, and materials.

• Education & Presentation

o Lead showroom walkthroughs and annual style-out presentations for store and

design teams.

o Inspire sales and visual staff through product knowledge sessions focused on

finishes, fabrics, and lifestyle merchandising concepts.

Qualifications & Attributes

• Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Business, or related field preferred.

• 5 years of buying or merchandising experience, preferably within high-end or design

driven retail.

• Strong negotiation, analytical, and financial acumen using sound merchandising

mathematics.

• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

• A creative eye for style, color, and trend with a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and

design.

• Self-motivated, flexible, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.

• Ability to travel to attend industry markets by season as required.
