Position Title: Senior Business Analyst

Location: New York, NY (Onsite)

Position Status: 12-Month Contract (Extension Likely)

Pay Rate: $71-$81/hour W2

Position Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support enterprise technology initiatives, business process improvements, and system modernization efforts within a large-scale utility environment. This role will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring business needs are translated into effective, scalable technology solutions.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem solver with strong experience in requirements gathering, process analysis, stakeholder engagement, testing support, and enterprise systems implementation. Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technical teams to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.

• Create and maintain Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), user stories, use cases, process flows, workflow diagrams, and functional specifications.

• Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, interviews, and requirements-gathering sessions.

• Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and operational improvements.

• Maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.

• Evaluate current-state and future-state business processes.

• Identify process gaps, risks, dependencies, and opportunities for continuous improvement.

• Translate business objectives into actionable functional requirements.

• Support solution design, validation, and implementation activities.

• Assist with change management and business readiness initiatives.

• Participate in test planning, test case development, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

• Support defect management, issue resolution, and solution validation.

• Collaborate with development, QA, and project teams to ensure successful delivery of business requirements.

• Assist with deployment planning, implementation activities, and post-production support.

• Build strong relationships across business, operational, and technology teams.

• Communicate requirements, project updates, risks, and recommendations effectively to stakeholders.

• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and consensus-building.

• Support project managers and delivery teams throughout project execution.


Required Skills/Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or related role.

• Strong experience gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing business requirements.

• Demonstrated expertise creating:

  • Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
  • User Stories
  • Process Flows
  • Use Cases
  • Gap Analyses
  • • Experience supporting software implementation, system enhancements, testing, and deployment activities.
  • • Strong business process modeling, workflow analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting utilities, energy, infrastructure, transportation, operational technology, or highly regulated environments.

• Experience with enterprise applications, asset management systems, system integrations, data migration projects, or digital transformation initiatives.

• Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project methodologies.


Experience with: Jira, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Visio, SQL

• Business Analysis certifications such as CBAP, CCBA, or equivalent are a plus.
