Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior AV Specialist to support the setup, operation, and maintenance of audio-visual systems across the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring seamless delivery of in-person, hybrid, and virtual meetings through platforms such as Zoom, Neat, and Q-SYS systems, along with general AV technologies. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a customer-service mindset, providing reliable support for meetings, conferences, and presentations.


Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Set up, configure, and operate AV equipment for meetings, conferences, and hybrid events.
  2. Administer and support the Zoom Enterprise platform, including user provisioning, licensing, room configurations, policies, and feature management.
  3. Provide hands-on support for Zoom, Neat, Q-SYS, Polycom, and other conferencing technologies.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve system and desktop-level AV issues in real-time to minimize disruptions.
  5. Manage microphones, cameras, projectors, video switchers, audio mixers, control systems, and Zoom room hardware.
  6. Coordinate with IT and facilities teams to ensure AV systems are fully integrated and functioning.
  7. Train associates on the proper use of AV platforms and equipment.
  8. Maintain AV equipment inventory and schedule preventative maintenance.
  9. Support live streaming, webinar hosting, and video conferencing setups.
  10. Stay current on emerging AV technologies and recommend system upgrades or enhancements.

Requirements


Technical Skills Required:

  1. Advanced expertise in Zoom, with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Webex, and related collaboration tools.
  2. Hands-on experience with room conferencing systems such as Neat and HP Poly devices.
  3. Strong knowledge of AV hardware, including microphones, cameras, projectors, displays, speakers, amplifiers, and digital signal processors (DSPs).
  4. Understanding of signal flow, cabling standards, and connectors (HDMI, CAT5/6, fiber, etc.).
  5. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve AV system issues in real time.
  6. Experience with live event support, including streaming, recording, and webinar hosting.
  7. Understanding of AV equipment setup, calibration, and preventative maintenance.
  8. Competence in maintaining AV inventory systems and documenting setups/configurations.

Secondary Technical Skills Desired:

  1. Knowledge of networking fundamentals related to AV/VC systems (IP addressing, VLANs, QoS).
  2. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 for scheduling, collaboration, and event coordination.
  3. Ability to read and interpret AV system diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
  4. Familiarity with room scheduling panels and systems (e.g., Crestron, Neat Pad, Exchange/Outlook integration).
  5. Vendor management skills for coordinating with AV service providers and equipment suppliers.
  6. Familiarity with digital signage platforms and content management systems.

Additional Skills Required:

  1. Ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical associates.
  2. Ability to work under pressure, particularly during live or high-profile events.
  3. Adapts easily to changing requirements and last-minute adjustments for meetings and events.
  4. Excels at problem-solving and can quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  5. Stays organized, keeping accurate records of AV equipment, schedules, and documentation.
  6. Demonstrates a strong customer service orientation by remaining patient, approachable, and responsive to staff needs.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in AV Technology, Information Technology, Communications, or related field; equivalent work experience will be considered.
  2. 5+ years of professional experience in AV support, conferencing systems, or event technology management.

Additional Comments:

  1. Travel: Occasional local travel, with occasional air travel
  2. Hours: 8:00a – 5:00p M-F
  3. Position is based in Wayne, PA where we have a hybrid work schedule with 3 days in the office (Tuesdays-Thursdays in office & Mondays and Fridays remote).
