Company Description
JMAN Group is a fast-growing data engineering and data science consultancy. We partner primarily with Private Equity Funds and their portfolio companies to create commercial value through data and artificial intelligence. We also work with growth businesses, large corporates, and multinationals.
Headquartered in London with offices in New York, London, and Chennai, our team of 450+ combines expertise across strategy consulting, data science, and software engineering. Since our founding in 2019 by Anush Newman (CEO) and Leo Valan (CTO), we have scaled rapidly, supported by a minority investment from Baird Capital in 2023.
Position
The primary focus of all our Consultants is to deliver high caliber commercial & technical solutions for our clients across our 4 core solutions: Core Reporting, Value Creation, Prep for Exit and Data Due Diligence.
As a Senior Associate Consultant, you will run client projects or significant workstreams on a day‑to‑day basis, taking greater ownership of delivery, quality, and outcomes. You will apply well‑developed technical and consulting skills to solve complex problems, manage stakeholders, and support the successful execution of client engagements.
You will play a key role in leading project work, guiding junior team members, and contributing to the development of client relationships. With the support of your coach and team, you’ll continue to strengthen your capabilities and take on broader responsibility across projects and internal initiatives.
You’ll be well‑suited to operating in a humble, fast‑paced, and growing business, where client needs are demanding and delivery standards are high. In this role, you’ll leverage your consulting experience, commercial acumen, end‑to‑end project management skills, and collaborative mindset to deliver impact for clients and help build JMAN as a firm.
Key responsibilities for Senior Associate Consultants include:
- Deliver client projects/workstreams, those with clear outcomes and those that are exploratory.
- Manage day to day delivery of client engagements and provide oversight to the global delivery teams whilst taking responsibility for the outputs and recommendations across projects.
- Develop and maintain client relationships and recognise opportunities to extend projects or expand client accounts.
- Work closely with a cross-functional, international team to solve complex problems pragmatically and deliver a sustainable outcome.
- Deliver high quality slide decks to effectively communicate to and influence multiple senior stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Drive internal projects and work alongside teams that look to improve the way we operate as a business.
- Take responsibility for your own personal development by completing internal and external training initiatives as required.
- Act as an ambassador of JMAN values and provide mentorship to more junior members in the team.
Requirements:
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
- 1+ years relevant experience, ideally in consulting/professional services, but we’d also be interested if you’ve built strong consulting-style skills in places like investment banking, private equity, or a fast-paced start-up.
- Used to working on smaller projects and tighter teams where you roll your sleeves up.
- Strong academic background and quantitative ability.
- Confidence with numbers and numerate (e.g. financial modelling, data analysis).
- Commercial acumen and commercially minded.
- Tech-toolkit wise, you’ve probably picked up (and want to grow further) in things like Excel, Tableau, Power Bi, Alteryx, Python, PPT or SQL.
- Experience effectively line managing and/or coaching others.
Beneficial if you have:
- A grounding in data science or AI.
- Experience working in a global delivery model.
- Foreign language skills (German, French or Spanish in particular)
How to thrive at JMAN:
- Comfortable stepping into client conversations — including the tough ones — and keeping work on track.
- A problem‑solver at heart, thinking from first principles and taking a pragmatic, solutions‑focused approach.
- Proactive and willing to go above and beyond, confident suggesting improvements or voicing new ideas.
- A strong communicator — writing clearly, speaking with impact, listening well, and adapting your style to different audiences.
- A self‑starter who can work independently and collaboratively, taking ownership and accountability for outcomes.
- Thrives under pressure, viewing challenges as opportunities rather than obstacles.
- Highly self‑aware, taking ownership of personal development and continuous improvement.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity in an agile environment, while bringing structure when and where it’s needed.
