enior Application Engineer – Silicon Photonics
We’re looking for a Senior Application Engineer with a strong foundation in optical engineering and hands-on experience testing silicon photonics devices. This role focuses on developing, debugging, and optimizing test solutions using optical/electrical instrumentation and Advantest V93000 ATE with SmarTest 8. You’ll work closely with design, product, and manufacturing teams to support next‑generation silicon photonics products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and debug test programs for silicon photonics devices using Advantest V93000 ATE and SmarTest 8
- Design and implement optical and electrical test methodologies for photonics components and ICs
- Collaborate with design, product, and manufacturing teams to define test requirements and improve coverage
- Analyze test data, troubleshoot yield issues, and optimize test processes
- Design and develop test hardware (probe cards, load boards, optical fixtures)
- Characterize and validate new test equipment and instrumentation
- Build and maintain optical test setups for component and device validation
Required Skills & Experience :
- Technical degree with some exposure to optics or silicon photonics
- Basic optics/photonics knowledge (insertion loss, polarization, optical engines, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with optical and electrical test equipment (OSA, power meters, VNAs, probe stations)
- Familiarity with Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) — experience with Advantest V93000 strongly preferred
- Programming experience in Python, C++, or C#
