IBT is seeking a highly analytical, tech-forward Senior Analyst Writer to drive our high-value content initiatives. As a Senior Analyst Writer, you will sit at the intersection of data-driven insight and world-class journalism, leveraging advanced AI research tools to provide our readers with unparalleled clarity on the global economy and the forces behind it.
This is a pivotal role designed for a modern journalist who excels at moving beyond the surface of a headline to provide the "why" behind the news. You will be responsible for two primary content workstreams: producing sophisticated, analytical pieces that interpret global business trends, and building a definitive library of long-form "evergreen" guides and financial literacy resources.
We are looking for a "New Era" journalist—someone who is not only a master of the craft but also highly proficient in leveraging AI tools to synthesize data, conduct deep-web research, and optimize content structures without sacrificing editorial soul or accuracy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- In-Depth Analysis: Produce high-level, original analytical features that provide a unique perspective on the day’s most important business and economic events.
- Strategic Storytelling: Identify "the angle" that matters most to the IBT audience, moving past simple news aggregation to offer insightful commentary on how global events impact individuals and industries.
- Original Reporting: Conduct original interviews and leverage proprietary data to ensure IBT’s long-form content is primary-source driven and distinct from competitors.
- Knowledge Leadership: Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of "evergreen" content, including deep-dive explainers and industry guides that serve as long-term resources for our readers.
- Optimized Workflows & AI-Augmented Research: Implement AI-assisted writing processes to streamline the structuring, drafting, and refining of long-form content, ensuring high output without a drop in quality. Utilize AI tools to parse complex financial reports, transcriptions, and data sets to uncover trends and insights faster than traditional methods.
- SEO & Authority: Work closely with the SEO and audience teams to ensure foundational guides are optimized for search intent and maintain high visibility over time.
REQUIREMENTS
- Proven Track Record: At least 3+ years of experience in business journalism, financial reporting, or a specialized editorial role with a focus on long-form analysis.
- Analytical Depth: A demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information—such as market data, corporate filings, or policy shifts—into compelling and readable narratives.
- Versatile Writing Style: Ability to write with authority and "flair," balancing the rigor of a financial analyst with the engaging prose of a storyteller.
- AI Proficiency: Strong, hands-on experience with AI-assisted writing and research tools (e.g., LLMs, AI-powered research agents, and data synthesis tools). You should be able to demonstrate a workflow that uses AI for efficiency while maintaining human-level editorial rigor.
- Editorial Ethics: A deep understanding of the ethical considerations of AI in journalism, including the necessity of fact-checking, bias mitigation, and maintaining a distinct human voice.
- Independence & Collaboration: The ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively, managing a long-term production schedule while remaining agile enough to respond to major market shifts.
COMPENSATION
$7,000 USD per month ($84,000 USD per year) + Benefits.
