As we scale, the Senior Sales Executive supports sales of our rapidly growing suite of software products. The primary focus will be driving revenue by owning the full sales cycle and closing deals. This is a highly hands-on role for a senior sales professional who thrives on execution. The ideal candidate is someone who is motivated by hitting targets, building pipelines, and winning business in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 


What you’ll do:


The Senior Sales Executive will conduct outbound and in-person sales to public affairs firms, media agencies, B2B and B2G clients, and trade associations. Outbound sales communications will consist of a combination of digital channels, all of which are enhanced by a robust content marketing and advertising program. Occasional travel is required. Success in this role comes from experience in technology sales, such as SaaS, AI tools, or advanced digital platforms, and public affairs, including the legislative process, advocacy, or political environments. The ideal candidate is highly proactive, resourceful, and driven, with a track record of creating opportunities and delivering results in fast-moving environments. You’ll work closely with leadership while playing a critical role in shaping our sales approach through what you learn in the field.


Must haves:


  • 5+ years of experience in a combination of the following: advanced technology sales, public affairs, political campaigns, advocacy, or government
  • Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding quota in a closing role
  • Experience managing deal strategy, forecasting pipeline, and maintaining CRM hygiene with high accuracy
  • Comfort engaging with senior stakeholders, including executives and industry leaders
  • Prior experience owning a revenue target and managing a pipeline end-to-end
  • Experience navigating complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles (e.g., government, policy, or enterprise environments)
  • Strong consultative selling skills, with the ability to build consensus across technical and non-technical stakeholders, diagnose customer needs, and position solutions strategically
  • Proven ability to generate pipeline through outbound efforts and relationship-driven sales
  • Experience working with CRM and outbound sales automation tools, such as HubSpot and LinkedIn to manage and nurture sales leads
  • Excellent project management skills with a particular focus on attention to detail and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including comfort in presenting technology demos
  • Demonstrated hustling in career experiences

  • Passion for innovating in the sales process, including leveraging AI tools to improve results
  • Interest in learning the latest AI tools and how they can be deployed to drive public policy outcomes
  • Must be based in the Washington, DC metro or San Francisco Bay Area

Location, Perks, Salary, and Benefits:


This is a full-time, benefits-eligible role based in the Washington, DC metro or San Francisco Bay Area. The role is primarily remote with 1–2 days per week in-person office time required. Neptune Ops provides a robust suite of benefits including discretionary time off, health, dental, vision, mental health, paid family leave, pet, and legal insurance, as well as 401(k) match, front-loaded sick time, holiday pay, and paid time off for bereavement and jury duty.


This position is compensated with a combination of base salary and commissions. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $100,000-$120,000 annually, with an uncapped commission plan and accelerators. Total, on-target earnings will exceed $200,000 annually. Base compensation is determined by many factors including: geography, the candidate’s skills, experience, and internal equity.
