Job Title: Senior Accountant

Job Type: Full Time (in office 5 days/week) 

Location: Washington, D.C., right across the street from the White House

Patomak is looking for an accounting professional at the Associate level to manage the budget and forecasting process, as well as the time management and invoicing system. The Senior Accountant will assist with financial reporting, planning and analysis, and internal and external audits. This position will report to the Chief Administrative Officer.

Overview of Job Duties: 

  • Manage the annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes.
  • Manage the project timekeeping system, which tracks all time, expenses, and invoices, including interacting with clients, monitoring accounts receivables aging, spearheading report generation, overseeing user training, and implementing system upgrades.
  • Assist with the monthly financial reporting.
  • Provide and interpret business analytics.
  • Assist with all internal and external audits.
  • Complete other responsibilities as needed, including responding to contractor billing questions and ensuring proper payment, processing vendor bills, and supporting remittance and the calculation of state and local taxes.


Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required, specifically in accounting or finance. CPA or advanced degree in accounting preferred. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting, budgeting, business analytics, and financial reporting. Experience with Sage is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with time management and invoicing software. Experience with BigTime is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite, especially SharePoint and Excel (XLOOKUP, INDIRECT, LEN/RIGHT/LEFT) and/or complex Boolean logic (SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, IFERROR).
  • Experience with U.S. GAAP.

Salary Range: 

$80,000-$120,000 


Salary will be commensurate with experience; eligibility for an annual performance bonus based on individual performance and firm performance.
