Senior Account Executive

Gray Wolf | Jersey City, NJ (Hybrid) or Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)

Gray Wolf operates on a hybrid schedule — in-office Tuesday through Thursday, with flexibility to work from home on Monday and Friday.

Gray Wolf is a first-of-its-kind sponsorship attention agency.

We’re building a new specialist model. One where earned media isn’t a support function, but rather a force multiplier for marketing and sponsorship teams.

At Gray Wolf, we believe sponsorships should drive business. And they do when fully amplified and treated like owned IP. That’s how brands earn attention and cultural relevance money can’t buy.

We turn sponsorship rights that brands already own into stories that travel across sports, culture, and the internet. We sit at the intersection of communications and marketing, helping brands earn attention.

You’ll work on some of the biggest stages in sports and culture, alongside a team that moves fast, thinks sharp, and expects a lot from each other.

We’re looking for a Senior Account Executive who believes their PR skills can help redefine how sports and entertainment sponsorships partnerships show up in the world.

What You’ll Do

Drive Earned Attention

You own the pitch, the relationship, and the timing.

  • Support day-to-day media relations: pitching, securing, and shaping coverage across sports, business, entertainment and culture-led media outlets
  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists, content creators, and emerging platforms (not just traditional media)
  • Keep your finger on the pulse of culture, surfacing moments of opportunity for our clients to meaningfully tap culture with speed, authenticity and relevance

Be the Engine

You keep the work — and the people doing it — moving.

  • Own timelines, deliverables, and internal coordination across multiple client workstreams
  • Manage up and down, ensuring senior leaders are aligned and junior team members are set up to succeed

Turn Sponsorships Into Stories

Fan-driven stories don't tell themselves. You do.

  • Help translate sponsorship assets into compelling narratives that generate earned media and social traction
  • Support campaign planning and execution across top sports tentpole moments (e.g. Super Bowl, World Cup)
  • Contribute to brainstorms with ideas rooted in sports, culture, and fan behavior
  • Create, Write and Create Some More
  • Words are the product. You make them count.
  • Draft pitches, press materials, briefing docs, and reports with clarity and edge
  • Help shape messaging that cuts through.Capture attention through culturally fluent language.
  • Help sell-in ideas and creative thinking - internally, to external partners, clients, and media

Bring Insight, Not Just Output

You mine insights that shape the next move, not just recaps the last one.

Monitor media, social, and cultural trends to inform strategy

Lead performance reporting and recaps, translating key learnings into clear takeaways for internal team, clients and external partners

Contribute to measurement outputs tied to attention, earned media, and campaign impact

Who You Are

  • 2-4 years of experience in PR, communications, or a related field
  • Deep interest in sports, culture, and how brands show up in both
  • Understanding of how brand sponsorships work
  • Strong media instincts (i.e you know what’s a story and what’s not)
  • Organized and detail-oriented, without losing sight of the bigger picture
  • Comfortable managing multiple moving pieces in a fast-paced environment
  • A clear, confident communicator: written and verbal
  • Naturally proactive: you don’t wait to be told what to do
  • Digitally fluent: you understand social platforms, creators, and how content travels
  • Possess a willingness to travel to client events
  • Leverages all available technology in order to provide the best possible results

What Sets You Apart

  • Experience working on brand partnerships, sponsorships, or sports-related PR campaigns
  • Relationships with media, creators, or influencers in sports/business/culture
  • Understanding of how earned media, social, and creators work together (not in silos)
  • Curiosity around data analytics and measurement – how attention is quantified and why it matters for a business

How We Work

  • Earned-first, always
  • Built for speed
  • Ideas over hierarchy
  • Collaborative by default
