SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager

📍 San Jose, CA | Onsite 4–5 days/week | Direct Hire

We’re partnering with a publicly traded company to hire an SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting Manager for a high‑visibility role based in San Jose.

This is a true technical accounting role. Candidates whose experience is limited to SEC filings and reporting processes—without hands‑on technical accounting—will not be considered.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and support SEC filings (10‑K, 10‑Q, 8‑K)
  • Lead technical accounting research and draft memos for complex transactions, including:
  • ASC 842 – Leases
  • ASC 718 – Stock‑based compensation (RSUs, PSUs, ESPPs, modifications)
  • Equity transactions, business combinations, and revenue recognition
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Finance, Legal, and external auditors
  • Support earnings releases, XBRL review, and SOX 404 compliance
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting and controls

What We’re Looking For

  • Active CPA (required)
  • 5+ years of experience, including Big 4 or large regional public accounting
  • Current SEC/Technical Accounting Manager or Senior ready for Manager with strong technical depth
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting
  • Proven ability to research, document, and communicate complex accounting issues

Compensation

  • Competitive base salary
  • Bonus + initial equity grant

If you’re a technically strong CPA looking for ownership, complexity, and visibility in a public‑company environment, this is worth a conversation.
