Financial Reporting Manager:
We're currently partnered with a prestigious and well established publicly traded financial institution. If you thrive at the intersection of technical accounting, regulatory precision, and external visibility, this role puts you at the center of it. This position owns the accuracy, integrity, and evolution of financial and regulatory reporting —working directly with regulators, auditors, and senior leaders to ensure confidence in the numbers that matter most.
This is not a maintenance role. It is an opportunity to lead complex reporting processes, navigate evolving standards, and elevate how the organization tells its financial story—externally and internally.
The Opportunity
As Financial Reporting Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of regulatory and SEC reporting, ensuring compliance, precision, and timeliness across all required filings. You will act as a technical authority within Finance, partnering across teams to interpret new guidance, resolve reporting issues, and continuously strengthen controls and processes.
You will also play a visible role with external stakeholders, including auditors and regulators, while supporting leadership with impactful analysis and insights as needed.
What You’ll Own and Lead
- End‑to‑end ownership of regulatory reporting for including annual and quarterly filings required by federal regulators
- Preparation, review, and submission of FFIEC Call Reports, FR Y‑9C, FR Y‑9LP, and related regulatory schedules
- Management of SEC reporting processes, including Form 10‑K, Form 10‑Q, Form 8‑K, and the annual proxy statement
- Preparation and review of external financial statements, footnotes, and related disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Evaluation and implementation of new accounting and reporting standards, including preparation of formal accounting position memos
- Oversight of XBRL tagging and EDGAR submissions, ensuring alignment with disclosure requirements
- Primary liaison with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Collaboration across Finance on ad hoc analysis, special projects, and reporting enhancements
- Identification of opportunities to strengthen reporting efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls
What Makes You a Strong Fit
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or closely related discipline
- Extensive experience applying U.S. GAAP within a complex accounting environment
- Demonstrated hands‑on expertise with regulatory reporting, including Call Reports and FR Y‑9 filings
- Proven ability to independently manage SEC and public company reporting cycles
- Strong technical foundation in financial reporting, disclosure requirements, and regulatory frameworks
- Experience using regulatory reporting and financial reporting platforms (e.g., SmartCall, SmartY9, Workiva or similar)
- Ability to partner effectively with auditors, regulators, and internal stakeholders under tight deadlines
Preferred
- CPA or comparable professional certification
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Background in financial reporting within financial services, or other regulated public companies
- Prior people leadership or project leadership experience
- Working knowledge of SOX controls and internal control frameworks
- Advanced Excel capability and strong analytical skills
- Familiarity with Federal Reserve processes and banking infrastructure
Why This Role Stands Out
- High visibility across external reporting, regulators, and senior leadership
- Exposure to both regulatory and SEC reporting—rarely combined at this level
- Opportunity to influence how reporting processes evolve, not just how they run
- Organization with a strong emphasis on values, collaboration, and long‑term relationships
- Competitive compensation with meaningful benefits and investment in employee well‑being
- Excellent benefits including medical/dental/vision, 401k matching & more.
