We are looking for a talented Student to join our School to Work Program in Bronx, NY.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Under direct supervision in a service workshop, assist senior level Technicians with repairs and maintenance on CHASSIS products and Engine repair.
- Disassemble, clean and inspect chassis and /or chassis components
- Provide assistance with diagnosing and troubleshooting engine failures.
- Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation
- General shop maintenance such as inspecting extension cords, replacing air lines, general maintenance, daily JSA (Job Safety Analysis) reports, welder inspections and daily time sheets.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Ability to work in an automotive shop / manufacturing setting, mechanical knowledge preferred.
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds and physically lift, stand, squat, kneel frequently, wear required personal protective equipment as required and operate forklifts preferred.
- Basic computer software knowledge is preferred.
- Please note, this full-time, summer internship position is 100% onsite at our Branch in Normal.
- The Program will start on June 2nd through August 1st (flexible based on School schedule).
- Student to Work program where current student will work as part of degree program to assist full-time Cummins Technicians.
