Job Overview: As a SAP FICO Business Analyst, you will act as a high-level technical architect and gatekeeper for financial controlling processes. Your mission is to translate complex finance requirements into robust SAP S/4HANA solutions that enhance accuracy, compliance, and global operational efficiency. Operating in a hybrid model out of Austin, TX or Sunnyvale, CA, you will lead end-to-end implementations while protecting the integrity of financial reporting across diverse business units.


Core Competencies:

  • SAP FICO & FICA: Minimum of 10 years of consulting experience with a deep understanding of contract accounts and financial controlling.
  • S/4HANA Implementation: Proven track record of at least 2 to 3 full lifecycle S/4HANA implementations.
  • Module Integration: Expert knowledge in FI-SD and FI-MM integration to synchronize financial and logistical workflows.
  • Controlling (CO): Extensive hands-on experience in Cost Center Accounting (CCA), Profit Center Accounting (PCA), and Internal Orders.
  • Financial Operations: Expertise in Accounts Receivable, Payable, General Ledger, Asset Accounting, and Profitability Analysis (CO-PA).
  • Banking & Treasury: Proficiency in Electronic Bank Statements (EBS), Lockbox, and search string configuration.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Solution Architecture: Design and document robust SAP FICO configurations that enable precise profit tracking, margin analysis, and performance measurement.
  • End-to-End Lifecycle Management: Lead all phases including requirement gathering, gap identification, technical design, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Process Optimization: Drive the configuration of Cost Center structures to enhance budget control and variance analysis for finance stakeholders.
  • Global Compliance: Implement Local GAAP reporting using special purpose ledgers and ensure tax and payroll processing compliance.
  • Testing & Quality Gatekeeping: Plan and execute comprehensive testing cycles (Unit, SIT, UAT) to ensure system changes meet functional and regulatory standards.
  • Stakeholder Management: Liaise with business process owners and manage on-site/off-shore development teams to ensure timely project delivery.


Technical Depth & Standards:

  • Reporting: Utilize New GL to enhance transparency and compliance in financial reporting.
  • Data Integrity: Monitor data quality across master data (Profit/Cost Centers) to support clean and efficient financial closing activities.
  • Documentation: Maintain high-quality process documentation, configuration workbooks, and test evidence for audit readiness.
  • Mentorship: Conduct targeted user training and knowledge-sharing sessions to promote standardized financial controls.
