Painter and Sandblaster

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Painter and Sandblaster who will be responsible for painting according to customer expectations and completing required paint documentation, including VOC log and check sheets. The role involves moving painted parts to the next process, verifying they meet specifications, and recommending improvements to paint procedures. Additionally, you will participate in Lean initiatives and troubleshoot problems by identifying and communicating discrepancies.

SHIFT: 5AM - 3:30PM

Monday - Thursday

Must be open to Saturday due to production needs.

Pay: 18.00-20.00/hr

Responsibilities

  • Paint according to customer expectations.
  • Complete required paint documentation including VOC log and check sheets.
  • Move painted parts to the next process verifying they meet specifications.
  • Recommend improvements to paint procedures.
  • Complete assigned Lean initiatives including 5s activities.
  • Troubleshoot problems, identify and communicate discrepancies.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in painting, industrial painting, and paint preparation.
  • Proficiency with spray guns, sanding, and paint booths.
  • Knowledge of blasting, industrial paint, and sandblasting techniques.
  • Ability to handle powder coating, auto body work, and paint spraying.
  • 2+ years of auto paint and body, or industrial manufacturing painting or sandblasting experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical, vocational, or military training in a related field is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with prepping, grit blasting, and final painting equipment.
  • Position will require a Respirator Fit and Pulmonary Function Testing.

Work Environment

Work in a large industrial manufacturing environment that is air-conditioned. However, you may be required to go outside to the yard for materials, which is not air-conditioned.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
