About the Project
This role supports the development, customization, configuration, and support of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud to ensure accessible and automated communications (Email and SMS) to Maryland residents regarding their health coverage options.
Key Responsibilities
- Platform Configuration: Configure and support Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Content Builder, and Mobile Connect (SMS).
- SMS Enablement & Compliance: Assist with SMS enablement, short code acquisition support, keyword configuration, opt-in/opt-out consent management, and strict compliance alignment.
- Campaign Automation: Develop automated journeys, triggered sends, and scheduled communications across both email and SMS channels.
- Data Management: Build and maintain data extensions, write SQL queries, and manage complex audience segmentation.
- Dynamic Content: Implement dynamic and highly personalized content utilizing AMPscript.
- System Integration: Support integrations between Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Salesforce CRM, and external State of Maryland systems.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Resolve campaign, SMS, data, and automation issues efficiently.
- Governance & Documentation: Follow State of Maryland governance, security, privacy (PII), and approval processes. Produce technical documentation and support knowledge transfer.
Required Skills & Qualifications (Must Haves)
To be considered, your resume MUST clearly demonstrate the following:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud development.
- Core Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with AMPscript and SQL within Marketing Cloud.
- SMS & MobileConnect: Proven experience implementing or supporting SMS messaging (consent management, SMS compliance, short code provisioning, Mobile Connect).
- Integrations: Experience integrating Marketing Cloud with Salesforce CRM.
- Compliance & Accessibility: Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG / Section 508) and working in regulated/public-sector environments (handling PII, security, and compliance).
- Domain Background: Experience supporting government agencies or health organizations.
- Consulting Delivery: Ability to work effectively in a staff augmentation role directly under state direction.
Preferred Qualifications (Highly Desired)
- 5+ years of Salesforce Marketing Cloud development experience.
- Active Certification: Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer or Salesforce Marketing Cloud Consultant certification.
