Chicago Basil is seeking a motivated and energetic Salesperson to help grow our customer base and strengthen relationships with existing customers in the produce and foodservice industry. The ideal candidate understands wholesale produce sales, customer service, pricing, and fast-paced market conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with grocery stores, wholesalers, and foodservice customers
  • Generate new business through cold calls, referrals, and market visits
  • Manage customer orders, pricing, and daily communication
  • Work closely with warehouse and operations teams to ensure accurate and timely deliveries
  • Monitor market pricing, product availability, and customer demand
  • Resolve customer issues professionally and efficiently
  • Meet weekly and monthly sales goals
  • Maintain minimum profit margin targets set by management
  • Assist customers with product recommendations and seasonal opportunities
  • Follow up on unpaid invoices and help maintain healthy customer accounts
Qualifications
  • Experience in produce, foodservice, or wholesale sales preferred
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn sales/order systems
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to visit customers when needed
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
