Position Overview
The Admissions Sales Specialist is responsible for driving new client admissions by converting inbound inquiries, qualifying prospects, and guiding families through the decision-making process. This role directly impacts census growth and revenue by effectively assessing clinical and financial eligibility, overcoming objections, and ensuring a seamless intake experience.
The position combines consultative sales, client relationship management, and cross-functional coordination to maximize admissions while maintaining compliance and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue & Conversion Focus
- Own the full admissions sales cycle from initial inquiry through admission decision.
- Conduct consultative needs assessments to determine clinical appropriateness and insurance eligibility.
- Convert qualified inquiries into admitted clients while meeting or exceeding conversion targets.
- Proactively follow up with all non-converted inquiries to drive future admissions.
- Maintain consistent outreach cadence to increase close rates and reduce lost opportunities.
- Identify upsell or appropriate level-of-care opportunities based on clinical and insurance factors.
Lead Qualification & Pipeline Management
- Screen all inbound inquiries using company criteria and compliance standards.
- Accurately document lead activity and maintain real-time updates in CRM and bed-board systems.
- Track and manage referral pipelines to maximize occupancy and minimize open beds.
- Ensure ineligible prospects are warm-referred to partner facilities to maintain referral relationships.
Relationship Development
- Build strong rapport with families, patients, and referral sources to drive trust and urgency.
- Maintain consistent communication with Outreach Coordinators to align on referral strategies.
- Partner with Medical, Clinical, and Operations teams to expedite admissions and remove barriers.
- Strengthen long-term relationships with referral sources to increase recurring admissions.
Performance & Growth
- Meet individual admissions and conversion KPIs.
- Participate in ongoing sales training, objection-handling development, and call reviews.
- Assist in training new team members on admissions sales best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve intake workflows and increase conversion rates.

Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s Degree preferred
Experience
- 1-4 years in healthcare admissions, inside sales, call center, or consultative sales environment
- Experience working with insurance verification preferred
- Knowledge of substance use treatment industry preferred
