Seeking Safety Coordinator for large MEP Fabrication Shop supporting a Data Center in Columbus, Ohio.


Compensation: This is a salaried role. Pay is dependent on experience.

Job Site: Fabrication shop with potential to fill in on site as needed.


Position Overview:

We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to support operations at a warehouse facility tied to a

large-scale data center project. This role will focus on overseeing safety for material

receiving, staging, and outbound logistics. The environment will involve frequent use of

forklifts, telehandlers, and trailer loading/unloading activities.

This individual will play a key role in maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse

operation while working closely with site leadership, operators, and subcontractors.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day safety oversight for warehouse operations including material
  • receiving, staging, and outbound logistics
  • Monitor and enforce safe operation of forklifts, telehandlers, and other material
  • handling equipment
  • Conduct and coordinate operator training for forklifts and Mobile Elevating Work
  • Platforms (MEWP), including hands-on evaluations and documentation
  • Ensure all equipment operators are properly trained, evaluated, and authorized per
  • OSHA and site requirements
  • Conduct routine safety inspections of equipment, work areas, and storage practices
  • Lead daily safety briefings / toolbox talks
  • Ensure proper traffic flow and pedestrian safety
  • Identify hazards and implement corrective actions
  • Support incident investigations and near-miss reporting
  • Maintain training records and compliance documentation
  • Assist with JHAs, SOPs, and inspection logs
  • Work closely with site leadership to align safety with project goals


Qualifications:

  • OSHA 510 REQUIRED
  • 2+ years of safety experience in construction, warehouse, or industrial environments
  • Experience with forklift and/or MEWP training
  • Strong understanding of material handling equipment safety
  • Strong communication skills and field presence


Preferred Experience:

  • Data center or mission-critical project experience
  • High-volume warehouse or logistics environments
  • Experience delivering operator training and evaluations

flow environment.
