The City of Flagstaff is hiring two part-time Rink Guards at the Jay Lively Activity Center and is looking for friendly, dependable individuals with excellent customer service skills. In this role, you’ll help create a safe and welcoming environment by clearly relaying all rules and regulations to patrons participating in ice arena activities. Rink Guards play a key part in supporting guests, keeping things running smoothly, and ensuring everyone has a positive, enjoyable experience on and off the ice. - Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Monitors the activities of patrons in the arena, locker rooms, and lobby.
- Advises patrons of rules and regulations during skating activities at the rink.
- Monitors the condition of the ice/roller rink and ensures that the facility and equipment is safe and usable.
- Completes required reports, including safety, incidents, etc.
- Assists with facility preparation and clean up.
- Performs basic custodial duties, which includes contact with household chemicals.
- May distribute recreation equipment.
- Performs first aide as needed.
- Assists with implementing skating events. May referee specialized skating activities.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this job to ensure continuity.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS- Ability to skate proficiently.
- Any combination of experience and training indicating the ability to successfully fulfill the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING- One year of experience as a Rink Guard or related experience.
- Current First Aide and CPR certificates.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS- Ability to work split shifts, weekdays, weekends and/or evenings as assigned.
- Ability to obtain First Aide and CPR certification within 1 month of employment.
- Pre-employment fingerprinting required, if over 18 years of age.
