We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Revenue Cycle Senior Specialist to join our team. Reporting directly to the Revenue Cycle Director of Authorization, this role plays a key part in improving our eligibility and billing accuracy through training, documentation management, and subject matter expertise. This position will support the Eligibility team by leading training initiatives, managing escalated tasks, and identifying payer trends to ensure clean claim submissions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage training plans for new hires, cross-training for existing staff, and retraining as needed.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for eligibility-related processes and provide input for process enhancements.

  • Maintain logs and documentation for all training activities.

  • Act as an escalation point for complex eligibility issues and support the Eligibility Specialists as needed.

  • Monitor and follow up on missing documents and assist in obtaining and maintaining medical records.

  • Handle high-volume assignments while supporting peers with daily tasks.

  • Assist with eligibility verifications and process assigned work queues.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to eligibility workflows.

  • Track payer trends and collaborate with leadership to flag issues in denial or rejection patterns.

  • Communicate with clinical and field staff regarding unbilled revenue and billing procedures.

About You

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage high-volume eligibility work in a metrics-based environment.

  • Highly organized and able to work independently while supporting team success.

  • Skilled in data entry, attention to detail, and managing multiple priorities.

  • Strong understanding of payer-specific billing timelines and filing limits.

  • Comfortable using multiple systems, clearinghouses, and online tools.

  • Ability to follow written processes and verbal instructions accurately.

  • Flexible and responsive to changing business needs and team priorities.

  • Maintains professionalism when communicating across teams and levels.

  • Able to read and understand Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and interpret billing edits.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in revenue cycle, including at least 2 years focused on insurance eligibility.

Technical Requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Excel skills ranging from basic to advanced are a plus.

  • Experience with Homecare HomeBase preferred.

  • Experience using platforms such as DDE, E-solutions, Waystar, and/or Nthrive is a plus.
