Job Description Senior Account Executive, College & University Specialist

We’re looking for a dynamic College and University (C&U) sales specialist to join our growing sales team and make an immediate impact 


ABOUT THE ROLE

  • In this newly established role, you will be the key stakeholder in developing and continuing to grow the College and University business for a diverse family of brands
  • We're looking for a regional salesperson who already has roots in Southern California Colleges and Universities and is ready to turn those relationships into revenue.
  • This is a rare opportunity with national brands that are established and are growing quickly, and we are investing in the right people to execute an aggressive sales plan
  • Work is remote with regular in-person, Zoom and conference call meetings.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Build and own a regional pipeline of College and University accounts in Southern California
  • Develop and execute sales plans, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to maximize growth on campus
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, distributors, and team members
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customer needs, resolving issues, and ensuring high service levels
  • Sell directly to F&B Directors, Executive Chefs, and Food & Beverage Managers — the people who actually decide what goes on the menu
  • Lead in-person kitchen tastings and product demos that convert interest into orders
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from first introduction through onboarding and ongoing reorders
  • Make regular account visits to strengthen relationships, grow order volume, and introduce new SKUs


WHO YOU ARE

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in C & U sales selling food products (specialty, frozen, fresh) into broadline distribution
  • You have real, warm relationships with F&B and culinary decision-makers on C & U campuses in this market — this is the single most important qualifier
  • You understand the world your buyers live in: tight kitchen labor, inconsistent prep quality, the pressure to deliver a great guest experience on a managed cost-per-plate
  • Able to work independently with an entrepreneurial mindset —trustworthy, consistent, and present —our customers buy from people, not companies.
  • Based locally with a valid driver's license; comfortable being in the market 4–5 days a week
