A Research Assistant/Technician position is available in the Yakoub Lab, Department of Medicine, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to join our research team.


Our laboratory is dedicated to advancing the understanding and treatment of major human neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. The successful candidate will contribute to addressing critical scientific questions in the field via cutting-edge technologies and innovative experimental approaches, including stem cell derived human neurons, human brain organoids, genetically engineered mouse models, gene therapy, synthetic biology and protein engineering.


Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in relevant biomedical laboratory research. 
  2. A strong background in biomedicine; candidates with hands-on experience in cell culture, differentiation of stem cells into neurons and organoids and molecular biology (protein expression, plasmid/vector design and construction, ELISA, WB, qPCR, etc) will be given priority. Additional experience with mouse work and behavior is a plus. 
  3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative research environment, with strong teamwork and communication skills. 


We are particularly interested in candidates who are intellectually curious, self-driven, and passionate about scientific discovery and translational research aimed at developing novel therapies for neurological disorders.
