Job Overview:
The United States Attorney’s Office (USAO) requires contractor support to assist in the review, organization, and reconciliation of financial records in connection with ongoing criminal and civil investigations. These investigations may involve fraud schemes, money laundering, fraudulent transfers, concealed assets, and nominee/alter ego relationships. Financial Technician will support the Forensic Auditor by digitizing financial documentation using spreadsheet-based tools and data analysis software, verifying accuracy, classifying transactions, reconciling discrepancies, and preparing organized analysis ready financial data. Work will involve maintaining structured financial records, validating entries, and ensuring that financial information is complete and properly coded.
Duties include reviewing invoices, statements, bank records, and supporting financial documentation; verifying information; coding transactions; reconciling discrepancies; and preparing financial data for use in investigative analyses.
Duties:
1. Financial Record Review and Digitization Review, organize, and digitize bank records and supporting financial documentation.
2. Data Entry and Maintenance of Financial Records Enter financial information into Excel-based spreadsheets, tracking tools, or accounting related databases.
3. Reconciliation and Discrepancy Resolution Reconcile financial data, spreadsheets, or computer printouts with operating unit reports or supporting documentation.
4. Financial Documentation Organization Organize, digitize, and maintain financial records in structured formats suitable for investigative review.
5. Support with Investigative Accounting Processes Assist in preparing reconciled financial data used in tracing the movement of funds.
6. Reporting and Documentation Prepare clear, well-organized spreadsheets and reconciled schedules documenting work performed.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma/GED or higher
- U.S. citizenship
- Minimum of two years of related professional experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, evidenced by utilizing pivot tables and charts with slicers, data modeling tools, Power Query (if applicable), and complex formulas (IF/IFS, COUNT/COUNTIF, INDEX/MATCH, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and dynamic arrays).
- Experience in performing accounting or bookkeeping tasks such as reviewing financial documents, classifying transactions, and reconciling accounts.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial information.
- Demonstrated ability to work with large financial data sets and maintain organized financial records.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion.
- Ability to pass a background check and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Preferred Qualifications:
- Educational background in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Statistics, Data Analysis, Economics or a related field.
- Coursework or background in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience working in banking, financial services, fraud analysis, accounting, or bookkeeping.
- Experience reviewing or reconciling bank statements or financial records.
- Familiarity with investigative or audit environments.
