Reliability Engineer
Location: Greater Knoxville, TN area (On-site - Relocation assistance)
Overview
We are seeking a Reliability Engineer to support plant operations by improving equipment performance, reducing downtime, and implementing reliability best practices. This role works closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations to identify root causes of failures and drive long-term solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement equipment reliability systems and strategies
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and troubleshoot equipment failures
- Identify and eliminate “bad actor” equipment impacting production
- Create and manage asset hierarchies and criticality analyses
- Develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans
- Utilize reliability tools such as RCM, FMEA, and condition-based monitoring
- Support and improve CMMS utilization and maintenance planning processes
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to improve equipment performance
- Analyze data and generate reports to drive continuous improvement
- Train and support team members on reliability practices and systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Reliability Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in manufacturing (maintenance, engineering, or reliability)
- Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills
- Experience with CMMS and reliability tools (RCM, FMEA, etc.)
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a plant environment
- Strong communication skills across all levels
Preferred Qualifications
- CMRP certification
- 5+ years of reliability or maintenance experience
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
- Background in predictive maintenance, lubrication programs, or condition monitoring
