We are seeking a Regional Director of Business Development to lead census growth and referral development across multiple skilled nursing and long-term care facilities.


This role will oversee local Marketing Directors and work closely with facility leadership to build strong relationships with hospitals, case managers, discharge planners, and community partners. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who understands skilled nursing admissions, post-acute referrals, and how to develop local markets.


Responsibilities


  • Lead regional census growth and business development strategy.
  • Supervise, coach, and support facility-level Marketing Directors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, case managers, discharge planners, physicians, and community referral sources.
  • Help local marketing teams create and execute weekly sales and referral plans.
  • Identify new referral opportunities and strengthen existing hospital partnerships.
  • Track referral trends, admissions, conversion rates, lost referrals, and census growth.
  • Work with Administrators, Admissions, Nursing, and Operations to improve referral response and admission conversion.
  • Represent the company professionally in hospitals, community events, and healthcare networking opportunities.
  • Hold marketing teams accountable for activity, follow-up, and results.


Qualifications


  • Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, post-acute care, home health, hospice, or healthcare business development.
  • Prior leadership or regional sales/marketing experience preferred.
  • Strong relationships with hospitals, case managers, and healthcare referral sources preferred.
  • Ability to coach and develop local marketing staff.
  • Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills.
  • Comfortable using data to track performance and drive results.
  • Computer literacy to use referral platforms, market analysis software, and Microsoft office to create reports.
  • Ability to travel regularly within assigned region.
