A prominent law firm in the heart of Chicago is seeking a Real Estate Paralegal. Key Responsibilities of the Real Estate Paralegal:

  • Prepare, review, and organize documentation related to real estate transactions, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, deeds, and closing binders.
  • Manage due diligence processes, including tracking and compiling necessary materials for acquisitions, dispositions, and financing matters.
  • Review and summarize title work, surveys, and UCC searches; assist with drafting objection or clarification correspondence.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, clients, title companies, lenders, and other parties to ensure efficient and timely closings.
  • Prepare closing checklists and manage pre-closing and post-closing tasks.
  • Assist with entity formation and maintenance for real estate matters, including obtaining EINs and certificates of good standing.
  • Provide general support throughout all phases of commercial real estate transactions.


Qualifications of the Real Estate Paralegal:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program.
  • At least six years of substantial commercial real estate paralegal experience gained in a law firm or corporate legal environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational ability, and effective time-management skills.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Notary Public certification.
  • Familiarity with property recording practices, municipal procedures, and related regulatory steps.
