Position Overview 

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our oncology team. In this role, you will administer radiation treatments prescribed by a radiation oncologist, ensure accurate patient positioning, and operate advanced radiation therapy equipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and committed to delivering high-quality cancer care. 

 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Deliver prescribed radiation therapy treatments to patients according to physician orders. 
  • Position patients accurately using immobilization devices and imaging guidance. 
  • Operate radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators. 
  • Review treatment plans and verify treatment parameters prior to therapy delivery. 
  • Monitor patients during treatment and report any adverse reactions or concerns. 
  • Maintain accurate patient treatment records and documentation. 
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, and other healthcare professionals. 
  • Follow all radiation safety procedures and regulatory guidelines. 
  • Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding treatment procedures and potential side effects. 
  • Perform routine quality assurance and safety checks on radiation equipment. 
  • Perform CT and /or HDR simulations as directed by the Radiation Oncologist. 
  • Responsible for remaining current with scope of practice defined by your credentialing and professional licensing organizations and/ or adhere to the scope of practice defined in your job description. 
  • Other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. 

 


 

Qualifications 

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy or a related field. 
  • Graduation from an accredited radiation therapy program. 
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy (RT(T)). 
  • State licensure as required. 
  • Current BLS certification preferred. 
  • Previous clinical experience in radiation oncology preferred but not required.

Work Environment 

  •  Outpatient cancer treatment center 
  • Standing for extended periods and assisting patients with positioning 
  • Following strict radiation safety standards 
  • Currently Elekta equipment with transition to TrueBeam in near future 
  • Mosaiq EMR 
  • GE simulator
