Role Description


The Quotation Specialist key duties include using quoting system and communicating with suppliers to cost the material, performing cost analysis, ensuring all material costs are accurate, competitive and complete, and quote projects are submitted on time, managing RFQs documentation, assisting in the preparation and coordination of the quote submissions, The Quotation Specialist will work closely with the quotation manager, sales team and other internal departments to assist on delivering high quality quotes to ensure the bids winning. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Process customer RFQs per quoting department standard process in a timely manner. Work and prioritize quote projects under the assigned due dates.
  2. Review, analyze, verify RFQs and customer documentation based on established RFQ checklist and gather all RFQ requirements to ensure all related costs are captured at the beginning of quoting stage.
  3. Organize all RFQ documents and manage RFQs under the established quoting guidelines. Process RFQs in quoting system and communicate with suppliers closely and in a timely manner to obtain competitive material pricing.
  4. Analyze material costs, supplier quotations, and market data to ensure competitive and profitable pricing for the material.
  5. Work closely with quotation manager and the sales team to resolve any material costing issues/ technical data issue in a timely manner.
  6. Collaborate and communicate with engineering team and testing department to obtain related cost info for the quote projects in a timely manner.
  7. Perform a thorough cost analysis of the material to ensure cost accuracy, cost competitiveness and the alignment of quote requirements and resolve any cost discrepancy.
  8. Prepare all the cost-related data of the project and the final quote template for quotation manager to review at the time of project completion, prepare for quotation proposals when needed.
  9. Periodically provide quote projects progress status to quotation manager and address any material quote delay issues to ensure that projects are meeting the quotation submission deadline.
  10. Prepare all quoted cost data and related documentation transmission for customer POs to PM department and purchasing department and attend Kickoff meetings when necessary.
  11. Proactively develop new supplier sources and maintain suppliers’ relationships.


Qualifications

  • Previous experience in contract manufacturing or OEM environment preferred.
  • Associate degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or related fields preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment as a quoter or buyer preferred.
  • Knowledge of electronic components, technical data drawings and quoting tools like CalcuQuote preferred.
  • Must demonstrate strong computer skills (Excel, Word, outlook)
  • Excellent communication skills with both internal stakeholders and suppliers
  • Detail-oriented and proactive.
  • Excellent math analysis skills

Work Environment

  • Prolonged periods sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer.
