Quality Inspector

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Quality Inspector for a precision manufacturing environment where tight tolerances, accuracy, and accountability are critical. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who understands that quality is not just about checking parts, but about helping ensure the entire production process stays aligned with standards.
This role requires strong measurement capability, a high level of independence, and the ability to support production in a fast-paced machining environment. The right person will be confident verifying tight-tolerance parts, communicating issues clearly, and maintaining a high standard of quality throughout the shop.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform in-process and final inspections on machined components
- Accurately measure parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, bore gauges, and other precision inspection tools
- Use CMM equipment as needed
- Verify part conformance to blueprints, basic GD&T requirements, and tight tolerances
- Document inspection results and nonconformances accurately in ERP
- Communicate quality issues clearly and promptly to production
- Support and maintain calibration of inspection equipment, tooling, gauges, and related records
- Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions as needed
- Support first article inspections and ongoing production quality checks
- Maintain a clean, organized inspection area
- Work closely with machinists and production to ensure quality standards are consistently met
Requirements:
- Experience in a CNC machining or manufacturing quality role preferred
- Strong proficiency with precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and thread gauges
- Ability to accurately measure and verify tight tolerances, including ±.003" typical and ±.0005" not uncommon
- Basic GD&T required
- Weld symbol knowledge is a plus
- CMM experience is a plus
- Experience with tooling and gauge calibration preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Dependable, accountable, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with production teams
- Able to stand 8 to 10 hours, lift 40+ pounds occasionally, and work overtime as required
