Job Title: Quality Control Inspector

Job Description

As a Quality Control Inspector, you will perform thorough inspections of fabricated components, piping, structural assemblies, and completed compressor packages. You will verify dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and gauges, ensuring all work meets specified standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of fabricated components, piping, structural assemblies, and completed compressor packages.
  • Verify dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications using appropriate measuring tools.
  • Review engineering drawings, P&IDs, and fabrication drawings to ensure work aligns with specifications.
  • Inspect welds, piping layouts, structural components, and mechanical assemblies for quality and compliance.
  • Identify and document non-conforming materials or workmanship and communicate findings to supervisors and production personnel.
  • Maintain inspection records and quality documentation in accordance with company procedures.
  • Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams to resolve quality issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Perform final inspections of compressor packages prior to shipment to ensure customer specifications are met.
  • Assist with maintaining company quality control procedures and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Essential Skills

  • 2+ years of quality inspection experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or oil & gas equipment environments.
  • Familiarity with weld inspection and welding procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
  • Experience inspecting fabricated steel structures, piping systems, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Basic computer skills for quality documentation and reporting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with natural gas compressor packages.
  • Previous experience in visual inspection, blueprint reading, and piping system inspection.

Work Environment

This role is based in a loud, dusty, and fast-paced industrial environment. The facility is not climate controlled. The standard workweek is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with potential half-shift overtime on Saturdays when necessary.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Weirton, WV.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
