Job Description

The QC Microbiologist will support microbiological testing and environmental monitoring within a cGMP laboratory. This position is ideal for individuals who can work independently, support investigations, and contribute to lab operations without full subject matter expert responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, finished products, and stability samples.
• Conduct environmental monitoring of surfaces, air, water, and compressed gases.
• Execute media preparation, sample preparation, and aseptic technique.
• Maintain GMP documentation and laboratory records.
• Support out-of-specification and deviation investigations.
• Assist with method suitability and validation activities.
• Perform basic organism identification and data interpretation.
• Support inventory management, lab upkeep, and audit readiness.

Essential Skills

• Experience with USP 61/62 main testing.
• Proficiency in writing deviations and investigation reports.
• Ability to coordinate group testing schedules.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or an Associate degree with relevant experience.
• 2–4 years of microbiology experience in a cGMP environment such as pharmaceuticals, supplements, medical devices, or food and beverage.
• Strong aseptic technique and microbiology fundamentals.
• Familiarity with environmental monitoring programs.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working independently.

Work Environment

The position is based in a laboratory setting with an 8-hour shift from Monday through Friday, typically starting between 7am and 9am, with a 30-minute lunch break. The team comprises two other microbiologists.

This is a Contract position based out of Largo, FL.

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Largo,FL.
