Role: QC Chemist (GMP Lab)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio

Payrate: $27/hr - $30/hr on w2

Duration: 05/04/2026 to 05/03/2027

Working Hours: 2nd Shift (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, M–F)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated QC Chemist to perform wet chemistry testing, support analytical validation activities, and ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on laboratory experience, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Testing & Analysis

  • Perform routine testing including IR, pH, solubility, and other wet chemistry analyses
  • Execute wet chemistry validation protocols
  • Utilize approved written procedures to conduct laboratory testing
  • Identify and investigate out-of-specification (OOS) results with minimal supervision


Data Review & Documentation

  • Conduct peer review of analytical data for accuracy and compliance
  • Maintain Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and ensure data integrity
  • Accurately document test results and observations


Compliance & Quality

  • Follow compendial testing methods (USP/EP/JP)
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with GMP guidelines
  • Adhere to laboratory safety and housekeeping standards

Instrumentation & Calibration

  • Perform instrument calibration and verification as per schedule
  • Ensure proper maintenance of laboratory equipment

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

  • Troubleshoot analytical issues and determine root cause with corrective actions
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and solution-oriented approach

Collaboration & Work Ethic

  • Work effectively in a team-oriented environment
  • Take initiative and manage daily tasks and special projects independently
  • Communicate issues proactively to supervision

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of wet chemistry techniques
  • Understanding of USP/EP/JP compendial methods
  • Familiarity with OOS investigations and root cause analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and documentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Life Sciences with 3+ years of lab experience
  • OR
  • Associate Degree with 5+ years of relevant non-academic laboratory experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a GMP-regulated laboratory environment
