Required Skills & Experience
• 1–3+ years of experience in a purchasing, procurement, or buying-related role
• Experience working with a formal purchasing system
• Background in construction (commercial preferred; residential/GC experience acceptable)
• Familiarity with:
○ Cost codes / construction terminology
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage vendors over the phone
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Professional, polished, and able to represent the company externally
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience using Procore (especially purchasing or pay modules)
• Purchase orders / work orders experience
• Exposure to estimating workflows or supporting preconstruction teams
• Experience building or managing vendor/trade partner databases
Job Description
We are seeking a Purchasing Administrator to support a fast-paced construction team. This role will partner closely with estimating and operations, helping build out vendor relationships, manage purchasing workflows, and support project execution.
This is a highly dynamic position—no two days will look the same—and is ideal for someone who is organized, proactive, and comfortable communicating with vendors and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for vendors and subcontractors
• Conduct outbound outreach / cold calling to identify and onboard new trade partners
• Support purchasing workflows including:
○ Purchase orders (POs)
○ Work orders (WOs)
○ Vendor coordination
• Build and maintain vendor and subcontractor databases to support estimating and procurement
• Collaborate with estimators to organize and translate trade and cost data into purchasing workflows
• Assist with spreadsheet tracking, reporting, and data organization
• Support Procore purchasing/pay workflows (or learn and ramp quickly if not experienced)
• Help ensure all purchasing processes align with internal systems and construction project needs
