Possession of a permanent Louisiana Dietitian/Nutritionist license plus three years of licensed experience in public health nutrition or dietetics in a clinical setting.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Job Duties:
  • Provides expert nutrition consultation to physicians, nurses, and clients in specialized clinics including CSHS, Genetics, Chronic Disease, and WIC

  • Develops and implements individualized nutrition care plans, delivering medical nutrition therapy, counseling, and referrals for high-risk participants

  • Collaborates with physicians and allied health professionals to communicate patient needs and coordinate comprehensive care

  • Conducts home visits as needed and partners with social service agencies on sensitive cases, including child neglect concerns

  • Manages and distributes specialized medical and metabolic formulas, ensuring compliance with program policies and patient needs

  • Serves as a key resource to the public by addressing questions and providing guidance on CSHS, Genetics, and WIC programs

  • Supports program operations and continuity by supervising staff, monitoring documentation and compliance, and assisting regional clinics during staff absences
