  • Provide case management and follow-up for newborns and children with abnormal or questionable newborn screening, hearing screening, and critical congenital heart disease results.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, parents, and tertiary care centers by responding to inquiries, providing case information, and coordinating follow-up activities.
  • Follow established pediatric case management protocols and seek guidance as needed to ensure quality patient care and program compliance.
  • Collaborate with nurse educators and healthcare facilities to identify educational needs and support training initiatives related to newborn screening and pediatric case management.
  • Assist in the development, review, and revision of program policies, procedures, and workflow improvement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse with a minimum of four years of professional registered nursing experience.

Substitution of Experience for Education: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse with a diploma in registered nursing from an accredited school of nursing or a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and three years of professional registered nursing experience; OR currently licensed as a Registered Nurse with a graduate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and two years of professional registered nursing experience.

  • Knowledge of pediatric care coordination, newborn screening, or public health programs
  • Knowledge of and experience working within the State of Tennessee environment
  • Experience with case management, quality improvement, or program coordination
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data management systems
