SCI, the Leader in Real Estate Executive Search®, is seeking an experienced Property Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, lead capital projects, and drive performance across a diverse, multi-site national retail portfolio.
Our client is a privately-held commercial real estate investment company with more than six decades specializing in the acquisition, ownership, and management of free-standing commercial properties across the United States (single-tenant retail, single- and multi-tenant industrial, and select multi-family residential assets).
This position offers a high-impact leadership role within a stable, well-established organization, with full ownership of operational performance across a quality portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of a nationwide retail portfolio, ensuring properties are well-maintained, compliant, and operating efficiently across both CAM and Triple Net structures
- Lead capital improvements, renovations, and large-scale repair projects from inception through completion, ensuring delivery on time and within budget
- Cultivate and maintain strong tenant relationships, addressing concerns and ensuring service excellence
- Manage vendor and contractor performance, holding partners accountable to quality, schedule, and budget standards
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs across HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including safety, environmental, and zoning requirements
- Prepare reports on property conditions, financial performance, and project status for senior leadership
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in retail property management, facilities management, or commercial real estate
- Demonstrated success managing multi-site portfolios across multiple regions
- Strong project management background, with a track record of delivering capital improvement initiatives on schedule and within budget
- Working knowledge of building systems, maintenance best practices, and applicable safety regulations
- Financial acumen, including budgeting, cost management, and reporting (proficiency in Excel required)
- Proficiency in property management software (Yardi, MRI, or comparable platforms)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across tenants, vendors, and executive stakeholders
- Willingness to travel periodically for site inspections and project oversight
