We’re partnering with a growing property management company in Madison to hire a Property Manager for a newer affordable housing community. What You’ll Be Responsible For
Property Operations & Compliance
- Oversee the daily operations of a Section 42 (LIHTC) community
- Ensure compliance with LIHTC regulations, Fair Housing laws, and state requirements
- Manage income certifications, recertifications, and compliance documentation
- Maintain audit-ready files and support agency inspections and audits
Leasing & Resident Experience
- Manage leasing activity including tours, applications, move-ins, and renewals
- Serve as the main point of contact for residents and handle concerns with professionalism and urgency
- Create a positive, community-focused living environment that drives retention
Financial Management
- Oversee rent collection and delinquency management
- Assist with budgeting, reporting, and tracking property performance
- Prepare reports for ownership and compliance partners
Team Leadership
- Supervise on-site staff and coordinate with maintenance and vendors
- Ensure work orders and property needs are handled efficiently
- Help maintain a strong, accountable, and team-oriented culture
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of property management experience
- Required: Section 42 / LIHTC compliance experience
- Strong understanding of Fair Housing regulations
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and resident-facing skills
- Experience with property management software (Yardi, AppFolio, MRI, etc.)
