Property Manager – Affordable Housing


We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Property Manager to oversee operations at an apartment community. This role is responsible for the overall management of property operations, including supervision of site office and maintenance staff, while ensuring full compliance with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) program requirements.


The Property Manager will lead day-to-day operations to maintain optimal occupancy, deliver excellent resident relations, and ensure properties are properly staffed and operating within budget. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, financial oversight, and compliance experience within affordable housing programs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all day-to-day property operations and supervise site office and maintenance staff
  • Ensure compliance with LIHTC, federally assisted housing programs, and applicable state and local housing regulations
  • Maintain strong occupancy levels through effective leasing and marketing strategies
  • Prepare and manage property budgets and monitor financial performance
  • Oversee the completion and processing of resident certification and recertification documentation
  • Foster positive resident relations and address resident concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensure property operations remain compliant while operating within budget constraints


Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of affordable housing programs, including LIHTC, federally assisted programs, and local housing regulations
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and computer skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred


Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 5 years of property management experience with supervisory responsibilities
  • Experience with LIHTC recertification required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with OneSite property management software preferred


Compensation & Benefits

  • This position offers a salary range of $70,000–$75,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package that may include medical, dental, 401(k), short-term disability, life insurance, employee assistance programs, paid time off, paid holidays, training opportunities, tuition reimbursement, wellness initiatives, flexible spending accounts, and employee referral bonuses.
